I have read a lot of Fantastic Four - almost all of it, in fact.
And I can definitively state Hickmans run from #570 till NOW is by far the best in its history.
While Mark Waid had some strong standalone stories in his run, Hickman is the master of arcs.
Huge, epic, exciting and interesting arcs.
One of the first arcs is "Solve Everything" - a audacious plan that stuck a cord with me. Read Richards, probably the smartest man on earth, decides to solve everything. Everything.
Every problem on earth. Its both a character study and a great adventure from that point on.
"Solve Everything" is just the warm up though, the plot-lines get bigger and more crazy - very much like the recent series of Dr Who. Huge setups years in the making, but when the payoffs come, they are very very good. Theres both "Helll Yeah" and some surprising emotional scenes too.
The only downside of his run is one characters "Death", which is about as typical old-school comic book "shock" as you can get. They take their time till those quotation marks in my last sentence go into effect fortunately, which at least gives other characters some time to shine.
Overall though, it was clearly a marketing trick, which leaves a negative mark on a otherwise perfect run.
